Any update regarding this issue?
I had a hugely frustrating experience with support yesterday that doesn't recognise it as an issue. In short, they say it isnt permitted to allow children to play online via Ultimate team. Due to local government laws
"COPPA imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age."
When I pointed out this was only an issue with EA FC 24 and could still access and play via FIFA 23 they stated this shouldn't be possible.
The way I accessed support was via the "I want a refund option" but not sure how far it will get you
How frustrating! Thanks for reporting back :-) Not to mention that it (online features) works perfectly fine on the PS5 version with exactly the same accounts. I'll also log a ticket, the more of us that report it the better.
Looks like they have messed up the child control settings, and as mentioned above the more who report it the better.
I received the below response from online chat after contacting them. Took a fair bit of explaining that the game works fine for an adult user, but the error message for child accounts make the game unplayable (as any game mode that has any online functionality such as a squad update says not accessible due to online controls).
"No worries, yes as I have also checked player are reporting the same. It seems Online-service-disabled in EA FC 24.Please do not worry We've recorded your feedback or bug report for review. I will surely pass it to the concerned team so they can double-check and and if they determine enough players have the same problem and the problem is technically addressable with a patch, or if a fix is possible in the game so they can furnish better game-play experience for you."
