Game keeps crashing when launching Skillgames or Clubs match

Question

As the title suggests I have a problem with my game crashing everytime I try to start a skillgame or load into a clubs match. I've been playing since February and never had any problems like this before, this only started yesterday. I've looked online and checked if it had to do with either Graphics card drivers or settings, but it doesn't appear to be either. BTW, starting a Kick-off match works just fine without any lag/other problems. Today, I tried to join a Clubs match with two friends and both their games crashed as well (one is playing on PC, and the other one on PS5). We tried this 3 times with the same result everytime.

I have already re-installed the game, verified/repaired the files multiple times, launched my PC in safe mode, launched the game as administrator. I am out of options and very frustrated with the state of this game.

One day further, I did find a fix, however it is not the fix I want. I found out that if I start the game using keyboard and mouse and select the game with this, it does not crash. However, this means I will not be able to play with controller which I am used to.

Does anyone understand why this crash only occurs when starting these gamemodes with controller?

Yes, I eventually found a fix. Before you get to the main menu you are asked to select your profile. Somehow, some settings got messed up on my profile with triangle (I used PS controller) being the input for almost everything. Again, I don't know how it happened, since I never touch the control settings.

However, I fixed it by simply deleting the profile in the starting screen and creating a new one.

By doing this you will have to readjust setting like your camera and club preference, but this is worth it in my opinion. Game should work fine again after that.

@shoarmawhopper Thank you so much man.I tried reseting my profile in the start but it somehow didn't change. I looked into the controller settings and found the same thing you had (every control on triangle). I simply changed from Custom A to Classic and it was fixed.Thank you so much again. I would have never found it without you.

Did you get a fix yet. I have the exactly same problem and that since today (could play always before)
