Packet loss and Connection quality report

According to your website: Packet loss measures the number or percentage of packets that fail to successfully complete the round trip between the EA SPORTS FC™ Game Data Center and your platform

But that is not a true representation of packet loss.  Packet loss is also defined as packets that have to be resent and packets that are sent out of order.

In your connection quality report for packet loss do you only consider a packet lost if it does not arrive, or do you also include packets sent out of order or sent multiple times in your report?

  • Is this forum for EA employees to help us with problems, or is there another forum for that?

  • How do we get the attention of anyone at EA to address issues?  I'm now having ping spikes above 80ms along with input delay, but my EA connection quality report does not show that.  Every match I've played today has given the yellow and sometimes red connection warning at the top of the screen.  I'm seeing mostly above 75 ping in my matches, yet the quality report shows that I have around 50 ping with 5ms jitter.  This does not accurately reflect what is going on in game.  I have tested the connection on my laptop, FC 24 is the only game that has connectivity issues.  What does it take to get someone to respond and why is their troubleshooting tool so inaccurate?

    Still no assistance on this issue.  Connection quality report is incorrectly displaying my connection score.  How do you troubleshoot or monitor connections if your tool doesn’t work correctly?

    I’m having the same issue over the last 2days I’m using a wired connection with decent internet and my ping is normally 12-16ms but the last 2days it’s been stuck on 150ms and the indicator is constantly red.

    game is unplayable for me currently 

  • Yes, I have tried port forwarding.  I have tried all of the suggestions that EA recommends.  I’m unable to get my ping below 36 with low but noticeable input delay.  Sadly, it’s been this way for years and I’ve given up hope of ever fixing it. Maybe EA will open some new Game Centers and one will be closer to me.
