PC Career mode - pause button wont work

seemingly at random, the pause function just stops working on both the controller and the keyboard, once half time or full time is reached, there is just an infinite looping cut scene for whichever point in the game I'm at, the only thing to do then is to alt + f4 and restart the game and loose progress on whatever match i was playing and whatever i did in the time before the last match.

 sometimes I do this process 3 or 4 times just to play 1 football match. please help this is a really game breaking bug. Never happened for me on the last game.
