Performance Issues after Update

I have had this game forever and have never had issues with playing it smoothly on my PC. But after the most recent update, it seems to be broken. It takes 3-4 times longer to launch and lags during gameplay. Played kick-off offline to make sure the internet wasn't the issue and it's still choppy and lags for no reason. I've tried the "repair" option,but it is still not working properly.
