Not really.
What I will say is that I have tried keeping a close watch on the contract situation in the squad screen and, if it moves neutral, and especially negative (i.e. red thumbs down), I renegotiate the contract to make the player happy with it.
The frequency with which players demand to leave seems to have dropped since. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not.
