Re: Controller on PC having issues

Starting 15-DEC 2023 I began having issues with the menus in ultimate team (jumping one section to the left when I press A, stuck scrolling to the right, RB brings up the EA connect screen vs. navigating right, etc).  When I try to start a squad battles game, 2 controllers appear even though only one is connected (via USB).  Like @Soothingpaper the only other USB connections are keyboard and mouse.  Previously, I've had no issues in close to 500 hours of gameplay.  I've tried a Razer Wolverine tournament edition and a regular x box controller (both wired, no bluetooth) and haven't been able to resolve the issue. 

I'm launching from Steam and have tried enabling Steam input, disabling Steam input, and default controller settings, switching to 30 FPS, windows bordered; without success.  Any guidance would be appreciated.

Having absolutely same problem for like 3 days, did you found any solution yet?

Found a temporary solution that makes me navigate the menus/play some games. (Game bought on Steam, running through EA App)

1. Make sure the game is in windowed mode, moved slightly to one side (as long as it doesn't 'fill' the screen)
2. Close the game, EA, and Steam (I make sure everything is closed on task manager)
3. Turn on my controller
4. Check that the game files are verified on Steam- I occasionally seem to lose 3 files.
5. Double-click the game shortcut, or hit play (through Steam)
6. THIS seems to be the important part of whether I experience the issues listed in my previous post or not.
- Right after the double click or selecting play, I ensure a shortcut on my desktop is highlighted (by clicking it once) e.g the recycle bin. Make sure something is highlighted before the game launches.
- This boots up FC24 without the window being highlighted and allows me to navigate the menus/play. HOWEVER, as soon as I click the game/move the window (causing it to be highlighted) is when the issue comes back.

Problems with this method.
- No sound because the game isn't highlighted.
- default playing as player 2 (second controller blue player icon instead of default red) despite me only having one controller .

Don't know if this will work for everyone, but might be worth a go.

The problem I am having was exactly like @Soothingpaper and @JacketMgt described. ( it will either get stuck, jump two sections at a time, or auto-cycle left or right.  or pushing RB brings up the EA connect screen vs. navigating right)

Here is how I solved it.

As far as I understand problem happens because EA FC 24 detects two different controller despite we all have one.
And I know sometimes when we plug our devices to different USB slots, windows still recognizes the ex slot and assumes the same decive as duplicate

So first of all I navigated to my devices and printers through control panel

I right clicked every device apperars on the list even keyboard and mouse one by one and selected "remove device" 

I left mouse specifically to the end as once you remove it, you wont be able to control it.
After unplug all of those devices one by one and plugged them to the same slot

And finally from device manager there was a decive called Xbox 360 (my controller is Logitech f310) I right clicked and disabled it.

When I launch the game everything was as it was expected.

This took me couple of hours of mine to figure it out. Hope this steps save yours

Hi tad @hastalikbufutbol, I am trying to solve the same issue following your advice. The removal of devices in the control panel did nothing. 

Where in the device manager did you find the Xbox 360 device? Bluetooth? USB? Any advice would be appreciated!

what is your controller model?

I had trouble with my A button registering 75% of the time in FC 24 on my Series X controller. I thought my controller had a defective A button, so I bought a new controller, but the same problem persisted. Then I tried both controllers in Sonic Frontiers and the A button worked fine on both of them no matter how lightly I pressed. How do I solve the problem in FC24? I play on PC. Thanks,
