I don't really see what that has to do with our connection to a server that is in our region.

we truly appreciate the response...still wish ea socials could acknowledge the issue but maybe that's asking for too much

I’m sorry but I don’t buy this excuse that it’s due to undersea cable damage. The cables got damaged a whole two weeks before the problem started in South Africa. If that was the case then why is it only FC24 that has an issue with high ping ? Every other online game I play is completely fine. 

100% agree with you it's that update that week that broke the game

@EA_Aljo Here in south africa, we have a data center in Johannesburg.  Kindly explain how the underwater cable issues are impacting this?  The undersea cables broke on 14/03/2024.  The game was fine for a minimum of 1 week after the cable break.  Issues started after the 2nd last patch was deployed.  I started experiencing issues around the 21st/22nd of March.  

Noting the above, kindly advise further as there is a local data center in our country.  Right now, we are being routed to middle east or thereabouts.

I belive you may have done the rerouting already and to be honest, it made it worse. 

I went from 140 ping, to 240+ ping.

This is unacceptable, both this routing excuse and statement regarding the underwater cables. My internet is running at full capacity, speed and ping rate. 

Check your systems, this started after the update prior to the most recent patch.

Yes. It is currently active. We also are continuing to investigate options to improve connectivity.

The cables have been fixed. Besides that the EA servers for BF V and BF 2042 is working fine.

Activision servers are working perfect.

Nobody currently is experiencing any internet issues in South Africa so be honesf as to why the servers are offline for Fifa only?

No other game server is currently offline

To be honest with you, I don't buy into the reason becuase why keep quiet until now if the cables were the reason, I'm not buying it, but i take it, it's communication rather than being left in the dark, but at the same time according to my broadband(a trusty source when it comes to tech news) three cables were broken(from my memory reading the article, i could be wrong) one is supposed to be fixed probably this week and the other two late April and early May, so could this high ping issue remain until then.

Thank you we wanted honesty in the first place.

This company thinks we are kids it doesn’t even make sense what he said. Why is every single game working fine , nobody is having ISP issues to that point . The cables went down a week past before this whole thing started . Yes we needed a response but a response where you treat us like children is unacceptable 

I work in client services, I know an email to * a client when I see one. This is one of those emails. Y'all have had 3 weeks to find a solution and still nothing? After 500+ complaints. Also, your EA tell number in S.A is useless. Fire the whole team, they're all useless. The problem here is that when we bought your game we bought it via third parties and now we can't ask for refunds and you have an edge on that. You can try to tell that you guys are investigating, but how can an investigation on something like this take 3 weeks to fix? Lol

How about me living in scandinavia and dont have amazon internett, do you guys have ANY uppdate why my players run into eachother for about 3-4 years? why menus are bugged and heavy , why my players random feels like the R2 robot from star trek?

Firstly just be honest. This is blame shifting at best and deception at worst. We know for a fact that it's not the underwater cables disrupting a local South African server. Secondly our internet connection has not dropped or changed at all. Lastly I would like to say that this is definitely the beginning of the end for EA unfortunately, there's already been a massive drop in players from previous years and throughout these many years that I've been supporting you I never once thought it would end like this, not with a bang but with a whimper. If this company wasn't so greedy and actually cared and made us feel seen it would've lasted many more years. 

The player base is dead after this debacle - why would casuals come back to this trainwreck. Servers being down for 3 weeks and unplayable gameplay - be lucky to have half the players back if EA ever gather enough brain cells to fix this issue anyway.

@EA_Aljo It is very clear that most of you community managers really don't take us serious, you telling me that EA FC 24 "your game" is the only thing that got affected by undersea cables that are very very far from our country?? whilst the Nigerian server is working perfectly? this is now going to upset the community these are lies! another round of applause for this 

The player count has dropped drastically for obvious reasons. 

There's a high chance they did this to cut costs and thought the SA community will just turn the blind eye and pretend its unrelated to EA as a whole. To be fair to them, the community has given them this excuse to use freely after there were several mentions to the undersea cables even though people have already said its unrelated. Honestly, I blame the users who constantly bring this up across this thread and across a few other threads I have seen even though so many people have already explained why this should not be a factor. 

Considering Epic uses Amazon and they have millions of users daily, its obvious that this should not be a factor.

On the bright side, TOTS starts next week Friday which generally means a big portion of the player base comes back and there should be a big update and whatever they have done to cause these server issues (for all we know, it was intentionally turned off).

This is what people don't understand. They 100% switched off the servers intentionally. There's no such thing as cable break. We fed them the excuse to use.

Nuts, this is not a cable issue. Where are the actual servers?
