Single player

I normally have my keyboard on my PC and a controller plugged in.  When I am attempting to play a tournament against the computer, I expect the game to control the opposition and I can control my team.  However, recently it seems that this no longer works (happened in the last few days).  Now when I go to load a tournament, every so often the game will decide that in a tournament it will just have the controller or it will show just the controller.  This behaviour happens even during a tournament.  I can be playing it single player and then when the match proceeds to the next round, it shows the keyboard.
