Unexpected EA Account False Ban
1. Hello, folks!
My name is Leo. A few days ago, I had to go through a very strange, personally upsetting situation. I am composing this to get EA staff attention and answers to get this situation clear along side relaying on your advises.
2. What happened?
On October 29, 2023, I have bought «Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered» and «Need for Speed Most Wanted» on Steam, when the Halloween sale was up still. On the next day, I was about to start playing «Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered», but I was required to create an EA account in order to access the game. Once I created it, I linked my Steam account to my EA account and immediately I started playing «Need for Hot Pursuit Remastered» for 3 days, until November 1 Speed, 2023. The reason behind this sudden stoppage in playing «Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered» was an unexpected account ban I got on the same day I stopped playing.
On November 1, 2023, 5:51 PM, I have received a message on my E-Mail from EA, containing following text: «Dear Customer, we are contacting you regarding your EA account. We wish to notify you that we have found your account to be in violation of our User Agreement or our Terms of Sale, and due to the nature of this violation we are left with no option other than to permanently close your account with immediate effect.» After I received that message, I immediately started appealing my ban, explaining what happened and asking for guidance. Later that day, I received an answer to my ban appeal, containing following text: «Hello, thank you for contacting us regarding the action that was taken on your account due to a violation of our User Agreement or Terms of Sale. After thoroughly investigating your account and concern, we found that your account was action correctly, and the sanction will remain in place.». With no any choices left, I started carefully reading EA User Agreement, Terms of Sale, started searching for answers on EA and other forums and did not find myself guilty, which left me alone and dizzy with this situation.
3. It can't be like that; there should be reasons.
This may sound ironic, but that is true. The possible reasons I will mention below are not stated in EA User Agreement and Terms of Sale:
1. Software that has an ability to overlay (Discord overlay; Shadow Play; bench marking software).
2. Suspicious software on your PC (Debugging software; coding software; torrent software; Operational System & Android emulators).
3. Regional bans (Cuba; Iran; North Korea; Syria: Crimea region of Ukraine; Russia; Belarus).
Even though I mentioned a few possible reasons of my account ban, I have the right to dispute them: 1. Any software on my PC, that has an ability to overlay was already turned off and never ever used on any games. 2. Although I use debugging software, coding software, torrent software and Operational System & Android emulators, that does not mean that I use them in purpose to hack or cheat in games. I use debugging software only in musical terms to increase a specific number inside of a plug-in when it cannot be increased without a hand of debugging software. I use coding software in both musical and code-editing terms. In code-editing terms, I use my little knowledge to edit in-game graphics settings, mostly down-grading resolution for more FPS and in music terms to fix bugs and crashes of a specific plug-in. 3. I, currently, live in Ukraine, and do not belong to any countries and regions mentioned before.
OK... What's next?
Patience, hopes, your help and EA staff help! It is very unfortunate and sad for me to hear that I cannot play EA games anymore. They are all incredibly fun and entertaining to play; I respect EA and every game they have done. I really hope this situation will eventually get clear and I will have access to EA games.
Peace, and with the best wishes — Leo.
