I've mentioned this before in other threads but I think there's 2 types of "Quitter" in this game.
1 - People who care more about ruining it for other people and being toxic than they do about actually playing and having fun themselves
2 - People who know when everything is against them and just can't be bothered playing the game anymore so just close it down and stop. As annoying as it is, I can understand that one a little bit more. There's been too many games i've played this year where it's got to a point where i've realised no matter what I do it's just not going to let me win
Unfortunately the first seems to be the most common, especially when you get higher up the divisions.
I won't be playing ultimate team next year but in Rivals the promotion/relegation system coming back should hopefully make that a little bit better for people that do decide to continue. Unfortunately at the moment if someones at the checkpoint and no further than that then it doesn't make a difference whether they quit or not. But if they lose points for it then it'll make it happen less often
They're not going to do anything. That's not a priority for them. Many if these matched come down to connection, so I get why some people quit. If you can't even get out of your own box, what's the point?
I don't quit matches, I just go AFK. I'll lock on my ST and hold shield until the match is over. I'm not going to take away someone else's win and many times, I need the match for an Evo anyway.
That’s another problem. I always forget if you punish quitters people will just go afk which is probably worse. People who jump on to play a couple games and they have to just sit there while someone else is just afk wasting their time.
But this thread shows people like quitting so it’s no surprise ea won’t do anything. Plus the alternative of punishing quitters might make the game worse not better. Doesn’t seem like there is a solution.
I don't think anyone in this thread has said they "Like" quitters at any stage, I just think a couple of people have said they can understand why some people quit in certain circumstances but not in others
The whole point of buying a video game is to play it & have fun and I think that is lost on quite a large % of the EAFC community. SO while I don't like quitters and I never do it myself, all i'm saying is I can understand from playing this game all year why people might get to a point where they're so frustrated with the game that they just close it down and stop playing, which will obviously look like a quit to the person they're playing against
Maybe I should have said understand which seems like it’s ok in certain circumstances.
Unless you would still want them punished for quitting even in those circumstances. If you want them punished then I might have misunderstood when people say they understand.
But that’s also a problem you are not going to be able to tell what reason someone is quitting so it’s going to be all or nothing.
Like people with bad connections I could understand why they quit but a punishment isn’t going to be able to tell you have a bad connection.
But it’s obvious people like quitting for whatever reason or it wouldn’t be a problem. What the solution is I am not sure as people who do nothing are probably worse and punishment would cause more of that.

I'd rather play someone afk and get the win than someone quitting and me getting shafted and wasting my time.
Quitting would be a lot less of an issue if your team didn't go from ultimate ai in one game to acting like beginner ai the next, that problem needs sorting big time.
- Oldman_Sparky_YT2 years agoSeasoned Veteran@RadioShaqs How could it make it worse, for the player not quitting by not being given the win, you lose a contract on all players, you lose your win streak which is a X2 in rivals, and you lose potentially 15 mins of playing if it makes to the second half when they get a lucky leveller for example then quit out.
The punishment needs to be a win to the player staying in, and the player quitting needs a soft ban if repeat offending. But there could be a forfeit button which although you are quitting it’s more amicable.
Just like in squad battles if you drop connection it’s a loss. Force that in all modes The worse part is people will just put the controller down. So now you can’t even quit as they are wasting your time so you are both just sitting there not playing for 15 minutes so what if you get the win. So you load up the next game same thing you both just sit there doing nothing. Maybe you have time for one more game same thing.
So you wasted your whole day doing nothing. Some people like actually playing the game not just wasting a day getting free wins.
- R1ckyDaMan192 years agoSeasoned Ace@RadioShaqs If they put the controller down then they will get kicked for inactivity, if they rubberband the balls guaranteed to go out sooner or later if you want to quit.
They just move the stick in one direction so they don’t get kicked. People do it now just not to the same degree that they would if you get punishe for quitting. .
Yes the ball will go out and you can quit which you can do now. The point is if you add punishment for quitting even you have to stay as they are doing it to waste your time knowing you can’t quit anymore. If you quit because you actual want to play a game by joining a new one you won’t be able to.
