Thanks for raising this, I’m in a very similar boat but with the PlayStation Store.
I didn’t even pre-order through Amazon — I bought the Ultimate Edition directly from the PlayStation Store (PC browser for PS5) on Sept 2, and the product page was still advertising the ICON bonus as included. I have screenshots from Sept 7 and Sept 8 proving it was still there. Only on Sept 10 did PlayStation silently update the page to remove the ICON.
So in my case it’s even clearer: EA’s official retail partner was still actively advertising the ICON bonus well after the Aug 26 cutoff, and I (and others) purchased based on that.
This isn’t just confusion about codes or redemption windows — it’s about the fact that the storefronts players use to buy the game were giving out contradictory and misleading information.
👉 The real question is:
Will EA and PlayStation honor what was advertised at the point of sale, or will they leave players who bought in good faith without the ICON?
I’m not asking for freebies — I paid extra specifically because of the ICON listing, and I think it’s only fair that EA honors the content that was shown when we purchased.

I actually did my research before pre-ordering — I used a gift card to buy FC 26 Ultimate Edition through Amazon before the Aug 26 deadline, and nothing in the T&Cs or disclaimers suggested that redemption had to happen that day. Everything I read said the purchase must be made by Aug 26, and that redemption deadlines go well into 2026.
When I asked EA about it, they pointed me to a buried line of text hidden in a PC-focused article inside collapsible content, which doesn’t even clearly apply to console players. It felt like they were basically saying “take it up with Amazon” instead of giving a straight answer.
I don’t think that’s fair on players — especially when Amazon has been an authorised/participating retailer for years with FIFA and FC pre-orders, and people have always received their incentives. EA’s communication here has been really unclear.
So you’re definitely not alone — I think a lot of us are stuck in the same limbo waiting for clarity.
