Surely EA should help the people that made an honest mistake and should restrict the card from going into evos that would mess up the chain? How is it fair on the people that have waited weeks for the card and now can’t use it like everyone else because of an honest mistake? 

This explanation about the rarity change is not a valid argument. EA should have clearly warned players about this on the El Pibe de Oro page. There is no indication that applying other evolutions will disqualify the card for this evolution. Many players, including myself, have wasted hours grinding thinking they were following the correct path.

EA needs to either fix this or at least put a clear warning on these evolutions so players don’t waste their time and coins for nothing.

No, it is not clear at all. EA should not just list these requirements: 89 OVR, Special Item, max 10 PlayStyles, max 2 PlayStyles +. Instead, they should explicitly state: "Only players who have completed Dream Maradona 1, 2, or 3 are eligible."

As you can see in the screenshot, my card still meets all the "El Pibe de Oro" requirements even after applying other evolutions. EA is wrong here, and they should fix this bug or allow players to revert their evolutions.

Many of us have wasted a lot of time and effort because of this misleading system. EA needs to address this issue ASAP.

I was totally caught by surprise when I couldn't upgrade. Of course players will immediately updrage Maradona with the playstyle.

I'm pretty frustrated by this.

I doubt they will rectify the issue.

I made a mistake and am considering quickly selling Maradona due to frustration with his suboptimal performance and lack of potential for maximum evolution.

Maradona Evolution Path in EA FC 25

Dear EA Support Team,

I recently purchased EA SPORTS FC 25 and was excited to use Diego Maradona in the game. However, when I accessed the Evolutions feature, I unknowingly selected a different evolutionary pathway instead of Diego’s Dream, which was specifically designed for him. Now, because I have already assigned him to another evolution, the game no longer allows me to select Diego’s Dream locking me out of the intended progression for a player I specifically acquired.

This is especially frustrating because I have invested over $200 in the game, including $150 on player packs, to build a strong team around Maradona. Now, I am unable to fully use him as intended due to an irreversible selection that was never clearly restricted or warned against.

Why This is a Problem:

1. No Clear Warning or Restriction. The game allows Maradona to be placed into other evolutions, but once committed, Diego’s Dream becomes inaccessible. If there had been a clear warning or restriction preventing this, I would have chosen differently.
2. Creates a Poor User Experience. Many players who purchase iconic footballers like Maradona expect to fully experience the unique gameplay paths created for them. Locking them out of this content due to an irreversible choice diminishes the value of owning these players especially for those who have spent money to build a team around them.
3. Lack of a Reset Option(s)
4.  If the game mistakenly allows a legendary player to be evolved into the wrong category, there should be a way to reset or correct the selection. As it stands, I am now permanently unable to use Maradona in Diego’s Dream, which negatively impacts my ability to enjoy the game as intended.

Possible Solutions:
Implement a one-time evolution reset for cases where a player has been assigned incorrectly.

Provide a warning message when a player is about to be evolved into a non-optimal pathway.

Allow Maradona to be reassigned to Diego’s Dream since it is a special evolution meant for him.

Request for Refund if No Resolution:

If it is not possible to reset Maradona’e evolution on your end, I would like to request a full refund and the deletion of my game title from my Xbox account so that I can repurchase the game using a redemption code and start my journey over again.

Given the significant financial and time investment I have made into EA SPORTS FC 25, I expect a fair resolution to this issue, whether through a fix or a refund.
