Lot of issues, but don't even use FC 25 for career mode now because of this.
As a player who tries Ultimate Team each year but usually plays career mode, I like to be able to manually move players so I can have a formation I like that plays to different players strengths. I'll often play a 4-2-3-1 with a DM and CM next to him and then I manually move my LM&RM's up to LW&RW. I couldn't believe that this had been taken away, and it should be part of the game to give players tactical flexibility. I've been actively aware of the downfalls the last few EAFC/FIFA games have brought, but I always tried to make fun creative career mode saves and pass certain issues as much as I could. However, the tactical overhall this year has made the game unplayable entirely for me.
I also think that the roles system was unwarrented. Players now feel so locked in to a certain space of the pitch and there isn't enough veriety, whereas the system before offered more flexibility and was more fun. You could buy a player in career mode and not have to worry about the extra work you have to do so that they fit a very certain role. You could build your team, set your tactics how you wanted and play. I'd honestly consider going back to the previous system, it's guaranteed to have a more positive reception from players than the overcomplicated system from this years game.
Players positioning shouldn't be effected even more by their change of role, when we already were supposed to have stats that determined that in defensive awareness/marking & attack positioning. It's just become too much, and needs to be brought back to what worked to give players more tactical flexibity and less needless things to worry about. The tactic system is just one issue, but it's one that makes the game even for career mode unplayable for me and not appealing at all unfortunately.
Please consider these suggested changes for the good of your own game, from a consumer who has taken the time to show they still really care about these games. Even if this year I, like many other players, have finally felt they might need to step away after what this most recent installment has brought. Thanks for your consideration.
