Player career keeps getting worse. Usually when the AI have the ball they either play it back to our own half or just find a way to lose it. They rarely build something up without me being involved on G/A which makes it feel too self oriented. Most of the time they always wait for me to create or finish things up. I want proficient and proactive AI that can create chances without me having to carry the whole buildup all the time.

I agree with you 100%. It is very unrealistic, and it almost forces you to be all about personal achievements in a team sport. You have to demand the ball at all times if you expect to have a competent attack.
Also, I think they should add a feature that detects your movement and positioning on the pitch over the course of many matches, then when you play as the whole team, your player will behave more like you would do. It's only right, he or she is a custom player, and should have a custom playing style.
And also the limited number of playstyles that can be equipped and the extremely limited number of playstyles+ that can be equipped need special attention as well.
And you should be able to really be the captain of your squad, and rally them and also hold them to a higher standard than that.
