FC 25 – Gameplay feels heavy/slow despite low ping
Hello everyone,
For the last few days, FIFA 25 Ultimate Team has felt very heavy and sluggish for me, even though my connection seems excellent. In Rivals and Champions modes, my players turn slowly, passes feel delayed, and tackles are heavy. However, when I play Squad Battles or other offline modes, the gameplay feels smoother (but still not 100% perfect).
Here is what I already tried:
- Restarted my modem and console.
- Changed DNS and tested different times of the day.
- Checked and adjusted my Fritzbox 6690 settings (enabled IPv4, UPnP, etc.).
- Connected via Ethernet cable.
- Installed a new SSD (Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink) and reinstalled the game.
- Cleaned my PS5 fans and checked the ventilation.
- Reinstalled the game completely.
Despite all these steps, the gameplay still feels like “Career Mode speed” in every mode, even offline.
My system:
- Console: PS5 (disc version)
- TV: Samsung S95BA (Game Mode enabled)
- Connection: Vodafone Kabel (Germany, Fritzbox 6690)
- Network: Wired / Ethernet
Attached you can see my EA Connection Tool results:
- Ping: ~18 ms
- Jitter: ~1 ms
- Packet Loss: ~0.03%
- Network Type: Ethernet
So the connection is excellent, but gameplay is still heavy.

Can you please advise if this is a known issue after the recent update, or if there are other troubleshooting steps I should try?
