FPS cap is not working after TITLE UPDATE 11 March 25
A new and completely random FPS lock bug has surfaced, and it’s causing major inconsistencies in gameplay performance. After discussing with several players some of them confirmed the issue after the recent title update, unable to lock FPS properly in my GTX 1060 6GB . The in-game FPS limiter, Rivatuner FPS lock, and even NVIDIA Control Panel’s FPS cap—all seem to be ineffective.
This issue could explain why some matches feel ultra-smooth other games feel terrible due to massive FPS fluctuations. After recording multiple games, I noticed that my average FPS was 77 when the gameplay was smooth—primarily during home games. My home stadium is set to the default FUT stadium, and everything runs fine. However, during away matches, especially when playing in stadiums like Old Trafford or Metropolitano, my average FPS drops to 65-67, a noticeable 10 FPS drop, leading to inconsistent gameplay.
Interestingly, on my RTX 4060, FPS locking works perfectly fine, ruling out general driver issues. I even tested multiple driver versions, but nothing seemed to fix the problem. At this point, I’m unsure whether it’s an anti-cheat issue or some deeper optimization problem.
If anyone has found a working solution, please share your insights.
FC 25 FPS Cap Bug Fixed: Temporary Workaround Until EA's Next Patch
Many FC 25 players have been experiencing an FPS cap issue where the game resets to unlimited FPS on every restart, even though the in-game settings still display a locked FPS. This bug originates from EA's recent update, which modified the in-game V-Sync function, causing inconsistencies with FPS locking methods.
Temporary Fix for FPS Lock Issue
Until EA rolls out an official patch, players can use the following workaround to manually lock their FPS:Go to FC 25 Settings.
Change the display mode from Borderless to Fullscreen.
Apply the changes.
Switch back to Borderless mode.
Lock FPS using in-game settings or RivaTuner.
This process needs to be repeated every time you launch the game to ensure that FPS remains capped correctly. While not an ideal solution, this is currently the only method that effectively maintains a stable FPS in FC 25.
EA is aware of the issue, and a future update is expected to address it permanently. Until then, players can follow this workaround for a smoother gameplay experience. Stay tuned for further updates!
