Quite the breakdown you produced here. Well done! I couldn’t agree more. I would love to have CFs back as a position option and the ability to adjust individual players positioning but your idea for a Roaming or Versatile False 9 would add more depth to that position. Strikers like Harry Kane of Bayern or Joao Pedro at Chelsea consistently drop into midfield to give the passers an option or even track all the way back and offer defensive help. Wirtz, Musiala, and Jude, these guys will bend every blade of grass over 90 minutes swapping positioning with teammates. I rarely if ever see this in-game. I’ve played FC/FIFA since the very first release on SEGA and have never missed a title but have yet to produce a club in career mode that can genuinely play total football. The players in attack will not drop deep enough to overload the back line and vice versa. With Versatile Wingers and Strikers as an option now, we are getting closer to that style of play and I think your idea would certainly add to that. We have a lot of varying options to utilize defenders in our attack but it doesn’t quite work going the other direction.

I’m getting it to work more and more. Started a career with BVB. I’ve decided to tryout Adeyemi in the CAM position with Half-Winger/Roaming as his setup. With 2 Versatile Wingers and a Box CRASHER CDM, I’m seeing a whole lot of interchanging positions from my squad. With a player that has Adeyemis pace and work rate at the CAM position, he’s covering nearly the entire pitch and then Nmecha (CDM Box CRASHER) is consistently making late runs and drifting out wide. It’s pretty great!
Thats a good adjustment! I am expirmenting more and might do a post with more tinkering!
