Recent patch was a positive, but gameplay remains awful
For starters you guys still haven't figured out how to make manual defending work better and it should be embarrassing at this point given that it's been an issue for years. You have to reward good positioning more in the game. You have to figure out how to count dispossessions as tackles since your game scoring system weighs them so heavily. You have to figure this out.
Do you guys even play the game? I am playing player career mode on legendary and the gameplay on offense is AWFUL. U-14 teams have better movement and understanding of space than the CPU controlled players on your team. It's so incredibly boring. There is nobody to pass to and nobody doing anything other than standing around. Even triggering runs doesn't always trigger runs. Not to mention that the game's passing mechanic is completely shot. If you have multiple players in one area or on the same passing line then good luck trying to play a pass. Helen Keller could have designed something better.
The dumb EA BS remains out of control. There is too much scoring in the last 10 minutes. There is too much scoring off your own player's mistakes. It feels boring and predetermined. If you have your opponent dead to rights to get a tackle as they receive a pass then EA should not give them teleportation abilities where they can suddenly surge past you with 100% ball control and speed that the player doesn't actually possess. I know it's a weird concept, but it would be really cool if the game played a bit like the abilities the players actually have and the way football is played in professional leagues. The fidget spinning is nuts. I watched an opponent do a full 360 degree rotation shielding the ball at superhuman speed and HIS FEET NEVER MOVED OFF THE GROUND. The patch of ground under him must have had an incredibly fast turntable built into it because his feet never moved. It was nigh on miraculous.
I am so tired of saying "How is this real?" out loud when playing.
Take 5 minutes before releasing the next version and actually try to make player career mode make sense in terms of the systems within it. Whoever owns player career mode should be fired and their desk should be taken into a common area outside and burned as an example to the other workers, because it's pretty much impossible to get to the 65% in one personality trait this year while playing the game in a non-idiotic way. You changed it without thinking it through, released it broken, and left it broken. Great work kids.
