The player ratings don’t make sense
There seems to be a clear inconsistency in penalty ratings that doesn’t match real-world performance.
Lionel Messi is rated at 75 penalties, despite having a long-term conversion rate around 80% with one of the largest sample sizes in football, and consistently taking high-pressure penalties for both club and country.
At the same time, Lamine Yamal is rated 79 despite having almost no senior-level penalty record and Several Argentina players (e.g. Enzo Fernández, Leandro Paredes, Alexis Mac Allister) are rated 80+ without being primary or proven long-term penalty takers.
Penalty ability should reflect:
1. Conversion rate
2. Sample size
3. Pressure situations
4. Role as primary taker
Based on these factors, Messi should not be rated below multiple players with significantly less experience and responsibility in penalty situations.
This looks like a rating calibration issue rather than a gameplay balance choice. Would appreciate a review for consistency.
