I agree. I didn't notice at the time, but as a huge fan of Cruyff's Barcelona Dream Team (especially Michael Laudrup), who won four La Ligas in a row, I have since learned that they would actually have lost one of those league titles to Deportivo, if they'd scored a penalty in extra time on the final day of the season. But the penalty was missed, thus only drawing the game (off the top of my head), so Barcelona got a lucky league title there. Seeing this Barcelona side mentioned alongside the best teams in football history, it speaks volumes that Deportivo managed to walk the line with them, in one of the seasons anyway.
A decade later I do recall their great side with a forward duo of Roy Makaay and Diego Tristan. Incredible team they had then, quarter or semi finalists in the champions league too, as far as I recall.
So, I get why you'd want them back in La Liga, and I share the sentiment. So I suppose it wasn't all too bad that I missed my promotion to see Deportivo La Coruña advance in stead.

Yes, that is true. 12 goals so far with 10 of them either scored or assisted by this Chupete fellow. At 21 he could very well be targeted by bigger clubs and perhaps be a future prospect for a Spanish national team, who traditionally has a hard time finding a great number 9 to spearhead an otherwise very talented side. I suppose we'll have to wait and see how long I can keep him and how he develops. But yeah, he does need continuous help from his teammates.

More players are starting to chip in with goals but more impressively the defence have really held their own a whole month with no goals conceded. Eibar are looking unstoppable at the moment with only 1 draw and winning the rest it will be some feat to catch them your games with them will be vital a win against them could knock their confidence and hopefully you would then be able to capitalise and overthrow them but the main focus is on promotion and your in the automatic promotion places now so it is looking like a real possibility

Thanks mate. Yeah things really clicked in this run of games. To be fair, it also seemed way too easy at times... Anyway, I shut down the PS5, did some other stuff, returned the next day, I think, and suddenly I struggled again, with scoring, getting results, keeping possession etc. Makes me wonder, if I'd kept playing the other day, if it had just continued to be easy pickings? Maybe the difficulty differs, whether one keeps playing or shuts down to start over...

Despite the loss and draw you still close the gap on Eibar however drawing at home with relegation contenders isn't ideal but once Chupete can find his form again I'm sure more consistent results will follow I think the team just needs one good run of wins and that gap will disappear especially since you have to play them twice

Indeed. At this point only the two recent home games (5 points lost) mark the difference to the top, so it's certainly not crazy to think that a bit more consistency could soon throw Eibar off the top spot. On the other hand, Levante do push hard from the rear, so another slip could see them relegate Málaga to the playoff positions. Consistency really is key.

Team looked like it as finding some consistency until the final game. Nice review of the signings made in the summer intrigued to see if the club decide to make any signings in the January window to try and cement that automatic promotion how did Eibar fair in the run?
