Authentic online?
I would like to know if “authentic” will be an option for online Seasons? I have been wanting a more realistic gameplay for years and I don’t like to play the CPU.

I haven’t had time to look at it yet. I sorta get doing it to ut even though I don’t know why it wouldn’t be realistic but to also do it to seasons. Ut was always 99 stats tons of cards ect but gameplay was still people wanted it to be somewhat realistic.
From the Pitch Notes:
Competitive Gameplay is mandatory/lockedin FUT, Clubs, Online Seasons, and Online Friendlies. It is optional in Kick-Off and Career Mode.
So, no FC 26 for me.
Having watched it live aswell my take is what I said the other day. EA had already decided back in December what the future of online was going to be. That is why the game refresh happened. The game got absolutely slated on release, mostly because of delay.
From that video just now I am seeing the current game from what we see online plus even faster movement in situations with skills and agility. I have a few concerns with how defence will be in dealing with slippery skillers who keep trying for that one moment they bounce through on goal. Time will tell.
That volley on the edge of the box scared me. I am genuinely hoping that is not going to be an OP type of goal. Again, time will tell. Also, I am hoping stamina drain is still a thing online and there is a need for subs to be used.
So all in all, I'm seeing FC25 game refresh gameplay with a bit more oomph. Obviously will have to see how it plays with new animations, speed, skills and play styles. Scorelines may well remain 5-4, 9-7 etc...
-----------
To continue on from this. I am hoping that the occasional rebound goal will still happen for and against. As it would be totally unrealistic for it to never happen. So if goalkeepers constantly parry it out of play and you never get a tap in that will be wrong. I have no issue with it being heavily reduced but EA almost make it sound like it will now never happen. That is silly if so. - You will still get games where opponent scores early, defends like mad, GK is saving everything. Yet you dominate in chances etc.. Save after save after save. Sometimes a scrappy rebound goal is what you deserve at least after you exhausted every other avenue. I dunno man...
It seems ”authentic” only applies to offline modes which is crap imo. Although Seasons wasn’t mentioned in the trailer I got the impression that you want be able to play realistic online. Maybe for friendly lobbies or something I Guess. Bummed tbh. But will have to se I guess. 😕
Ea posted a deep dive comes out tomorrow on gameplay. So hopefully it explains more. I am hoping I am just guessing or misunderstanding the info we already have.
I hope they listen to you. I don't like playing offline against AI, it's boring. Does not matter what difficulty I use, it's not interesting to me. But from what I read this "authentic mode" is only available for boring offline play, which leads me to the next question: HOW is this "authentic mode" any different from what we already have in "simulation"? I think the biggest problem with these games is the player ratings. If you actually play with the lowest rated teams, I think it's a decent football game with some realism to it but as soon as you pick some top team, it becomes ridiculous.
So, if EA is listening, the ONLY way to you can make realistic gameplay modes whether it's offline or online, is to lower all the ratings from top teams, but you don't do that. You think realism is when you slow down the pace of the game completely where it becomes absolutely ridiculous in a slow-motion kind of way, and the worst part about it is that it also affects ball speed and animations, that is not realism.
The ball physics have to feel as a separate entity unattached from the player's feet and it has to have a separate speed and physics attached to it, same goes for the animations, all this has to be separated. Pitch friction increases the lower the player's speed stats are which is a good thing, and the game still doesn't feel slow, which is also a good thing and an indicator that player stats are way too overpowered.
Also, your dynamic lighting is very unappealing. FIFA 17 absolutely dominates anything that came after it in terms of lighting. I don't think dynamic lighting is a good thing for football games at all. It affects how animations look, and it can make it look very unappealing, yet when you change stadiums/day/night, etc., same team, the game feels better, the difference is astounding, like playing a completely different game. That should be addressed, the game should always look good whether its night/day/summer/winter or whatever stadium you're playing, it should never ever be hard to look at and make you quit the game because of the lighting being very bad.
I would even be ok if they offered different modes. Like in ut rush and Friendlies could be arcade. I don’t think anybody really take those serious so they could have double the pace lazer passing and shooting. They could have those mystery ball ect. Then rivals and wl could be realistic. This would be another way to give everyone a choice.
Exactly this. Please read this EA. :)
This will make life easier for EA as well since people will as you say always wanting the game in different directions.
And once again, at least make it an option for Seasons.
Sure, I understand your Pov. And you have every right to ask for the ability to play either Authentic Gameplay or Competitive Gameplay online or offline — based on your preference. You shouldn't be forced into one specific option. It's totally fine — this is a fair right for everyone, and it doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary, it would actually allow each player to enjoy the mode they feel comfortable with.
The right thing would be to make both options online. That way people who want to play realistic would still be able to play. Also what about people who want an arcade experience offline. Why should they be forced to play online.
If they only gave you the option to play realistic online you wouldn’t like it.
I think this will really hurt a lot of the player base.
Also let’s say you do enjoy the arcade gameplay. You think everyone wanting realism isn’t going to try to get ea to nerf it? People will say the scorelines are to high ping pong passing and pace is to strong. Now ea might actually ignore people wanting realism but they might not so it still might impact your experience.
