Cpu defending

Can somebody tell me how people that get their cdm run forever pressing r1 and everyone on their team defends? How can a game that started so good with cpu defending being bad making people try to defend themselves and now with the paches it’s becoming a game about who can abuse R1 defend more. 
Fix it because it’s becoming boring to play, people playing the same way every time I don’t think that i encountered a player this fut champs that played to press me with the player he’s moving. Only R1 defending and triggering runs forward that are impossible to cut.
