If you are being put in a server far from where you live then this could be a routing issue but also important to keep in mind that connections are now much more advanced, I live across the world and regularly play with friends in Australia with out any issue regarding delays or lag.
A gold team dominating in-game can simply be the case where you are playing a really good player. I know players who can dominate a game with an all bronze team, FC 26 is a game of skill and some players are just that good.
When you check your IP address does it show you as being in Australia?

@ EA_Darko - dont mean to be a downer, but EA input delay is an irrepairable fix that EA is willing to address. My FC26 hasn't worked for months due to input delay. I have a very modern gaming system with a perfect connection, and the input lag most of every single time is atrocious. EA hasn't formally addressed the issue, just type in FC26 INPUT DELAY and you will see months on end complaints about the issue. Seems some people a few have a great connection and everyone else complaining is in screwed, like me. This wasn't the game I purchased when it worked at first before patches. I love this game, but I may have to cut my ties with EA because my favorite game doesn't work and I see that EA doesn't care. So sad for this input delay gameplay, how is the community expected to play rivals, champions, or competitive modes? This ish game doesn't work, tried everything short - I wish i could take my expensive gaming system to EA headquarters (down the street from my home in LA) and show them a true gamers experience with this game. Its kindly, FC for football crap.
