Can't play in rivals with my controller. Only on keyboard?!

I have problem with selecting controller in ultimate team in competitive modes like rivals. I'm using xbox controller and playing on pc. So earlier I didn't have this problem. I automatically connected my controller and was playing game matches with controller. but now by default it selects keyboard to play games, which is uncomfortable for me, but I can't find a way to CHANGE IT!!! I can't select controller that I want to use before the game in rivals and in a mid game. I can select controller only in vs ai game modes, but not in rivals. HOW I CAN FIX IT AND JUST SELECT CONTROLLER THAT I WANT TO USE??? I payed for this game but can't change one of the basics things - controller That's absolutely devastating and ridiculous.
