Can't play Squad battles on PC

I can't get a squad battles match to start after downloading today's update. I go through flow to select team, controller, kits, etc but after that my screen goes all grey and I can't do anything. I have tried closing and reopening EA app, restarting PC, drivers are up to date. Game is broken.
