Connection

I don't know if this is just me. When I go into a game of rivals it says that my ping is around 18. Then when I get into the game I will have huge lag spikes and the ping jumps up to 800-1000. It's only happening when I play this game, every other game is fine. Does any one have any solutions or having the same issue?
