Consistent 15-min input delay in FUT/Rivals PC — full diagnostics included
Summary:
Every online FUT/Rivals match, controls become significantly delayed at a consistent ~15 minute mark. The delay is sustained for the rest of the match (does not fluctuate or recover) and resets to normal at the start of the next match. Happens during both active gameplay and cutscenes, ruling out input-load-based causes.
What I've ruled out:
- Local rendering performance: Monitored via MSI Afterburner/RTSS overlay. FPS, frametime, GPU%, and CPU% before and during the delay were essentially unchanged (FPS actually slightly higher during the delay period, frametime stable ~9-10ms throughout).
- Network quality: EA's own in-client Connection Score tool shows, averaged over my last 9 matches: Ping 16.23ms (Great), Jitter 1.04ms (Great), Packet loss 0.01% (Great).
- Wi-Fi instability: Ruled out via the above — connection quality is rated "Great" across the board, and behavior is 100% consistent/reproducible rather than intermittent.
- Offline performance: Kick-Off/practice mode is completely unaffected — issue is exclusive to online modes.
- GameInput Service: Disabled both GameInput Service and GameInput Redist Service, restarted PC — no change.
- Graphics settings: Locked fcsetup_default.ini with all quality settings (RENDERINGQUALITY, CROWD_QUALITY, GRASS_QUALITY, CLOTH_QUALITY, DYNAMIC_AO_QUALITY) at 0, GRAPHICS_PRESET at -1, file set read-only — no change.
System:

Pattern:
This is not intermittent lag or a random spike — it is a hard state change that begins consistently around the 15-minute mark and persists until the match ends, then resets for the next match. Given that FPS/frametime/connection metrics remain stable throughout, this points to a server-side sync or netcode issue rather than a client-side or local network problem.
Has anyone else observed this specific timing pattern, or is there any known cause/fix from EA on this?
