FC 26 PC – Match drops FPS to 5 and permanently breaks performance

Question

In FC 26 there is no FPS or lag issue on the main menu at first but as soon as I enter a match the game drops to around 5 FPS and becomes unplayable. After exiting the match the main menu also stays at 5 FPS and the performance remains broken until I restart the game. FC 25 runs perfectly smooth on the same PC with no performance issues at all so this is clearly not a hardware related problem. This appears to be a serious FC 26 PC optimization bug possibly related to resource handling or a memory leak. My computer is more than capable of running the game and the issue is entirely caused by FC 26 bugs.

Restarting the game is the only temporary fix.

Many other PC players are reporting the same issue.

I have exactly the same issue. I don't think it did this before, if I remember correctly. So I think it's something with the new patch

Hello, I had the same problems too. First, set the settings you play well with in the eafc 26 menu, either from the nvidia app or directly from the fcsetup.ini file. Then, try setting the configuration files (fcsetup.ini, fcsetup_default.ini, overrideAutodetect.lua) to read-only first, and then deny them write access for each user. That's how I solved it. However, I think the biggest problems or the settings that should be lowered are the rendering scale (even lowering the normal resolution to 720p, 1080p caused a drop in fps with the rendering scale at 100), Ambient Occlusion to medium-low, and setting Hair Strands to off. I hope this helps you solve the problem.
