gameplay runs at about 50% speed
Bug Report: Slow Motion Gameplay on PC (EA Sports FC 26)
Game Version / Platform:
EA Sports FC 26 (PC, EA App/Steam/Epic)
System Specs:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070
CPU: Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
Monitor: 1920x1080 @ 144 Hz
Description of Issue:
Gameplay during matches feels like it is running in slow motion even though the FPS counter shows normal/high performance.
Menus, cutscenes, and replays run perfectly smoothly.
Only live gameplay (on the pitch) is affected.
In-game clock speed seems slower than real time.
Inputs feel delayed and sluggish.
Troubleshooting Attempted:
Verified refresh rate is set to 144 Hz in Windows, NVIDIA Control Panel, and in-game.
Tested V-Sync ON/OFF, G-Sync ON/OFF.
Tried Fullscreen vs Borderless Windowed.
Forced DirectX 11 launch (-dx11).
Updated NVIDIA drivers.
Disabled overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, etc.).
Monitored CPU/GPU temps and usage (no throttling detected).
Other games on the same system run normally without this issue.
Reproduction Steps:
1. Launch EA Sports FC 26 on PC.
2. Start a Kick-Off or Ultimate Team match.
3. Observe gameplay speed — menus and cutscenes smooth, but on-pitch gameplay feels unnaturally slow.
Expected Result:
Gameplay should run at normal speed with smooth animations, matching FPS and refresh rate.
Actual Result:
Gameplay feels like slow motion despite high FPS, menus/cutscenes unaffected.
Additional Notes:
This issue has been reported by multiple PC players on forums and Reddit, across different hardware setups. Appears to be a game-side bug related to rendering/physics timing rather than hardware limitations.
