My Controller Suddenly Stopped Working in FC 26 Tried Everything Still Broken
Hi everyone,
I’m honestly getting really frustrated right now. My controller suddenly stopped working in FC 26, even though it works perfectly fine in every other game and on every platform. It was working without any issues just two days ago — and then, out of nowhere, it stopped responding in FC 26 only.
Before anyone suggests it, I’ve already tried literally everything from the common troubleshooting list:
- Use only the controller to navigate the opening screens.
- Restarted FC 26 and went through the opening screens again using only the controller.
- Closed the game, unplugged the controller, plugged it back in, and relaunched.
- Tried a different USB data cable and a rear USB 3.x port.
- Tested both wired and Bluetooth connections.
- Switched between Fullscreen, Windowed, and Borderless modes.
- Set a frame-rate cap (tried both 30 and 60 FPS).
- Enabled VSync.
- Lowered graphics settings (shadows, effects, etc.).
- Ran the game .exe as Administrator.
- Disconnected all other input devices.
- Turned off all overlays (EA App, Steam Overlay, Xbox Game Bar, Discord, GeForce Experience, RivaTuner).
- Removed the gamepad from the Device Manager, uninstalled and reinstalled the Bluetooth driver
- I also added the game to Steam and enabled controller support from there, but that didn’t help as well.
None of these steps worked. Absolutely nothing changed.
At this point, it’s really disappointing that a multi-billion-dollar company releases a game with such basic issues and focuses more on in-game purchases than on actually fixing technical problems that break the game for players. I’ve spent hours trying to fix something that shouldn’t even be an issue in the first place.
Every single year it’s the same story — the PC version is a complete mess. It’s honestly exhausting at this point.
Please, if anyone has a real solution for this — not the same copy-pasted “try this” checklist — I’d really appreciate the help.
Every single year it’s the same **bleep** thing — the PC version is always garbage. I’m honestly sick of it.
