Online Friendlies Error-Squads Not Matched

FC 26 – Online Match Error: Squad Mismatch (PS5)

Issue Description:
I purchased EA Sports FC 26 for PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store during its release week in September. Since the day of purchase, I have been unable to play online matches with my friends.
Whenever we try to start an online match, we receive the error message “There was an error because the squads do not match”, and the connection is immediately terminated. As a result, online matches cannot be played at all.
Troubleshooting Steps Tried:
I have researched this issue extensively and tried all suggested solutions shared by other users experiencing the same problem, including:
- Deleting and re-downloading squads
- Updating squads
- Reverting to default squads
- Resetting in-game settings
- Restarting the game and console
None of these steps resolved the issue. The problem persists consistently.
Additional Information:
I have been a loyal EA Sports football game customer since FIFA 99, purchasing every yearly release. It is very frustrating to be unable to use a core feature of a game I paid for, especially online play. Screenshots of the error message are attached for reference.
