Parent email won’t send, connection issue
When my kid tries to play FC 26 on PS5, it prompts for a parent email address. We enter it, but immediately receive an error that the connection is lost. Connection is fine - all other games and devices in our house work. We tried The game update and system restart. Same error.
In another forum, it was mentioned that an age restriction could prevent the email from being sent (which seems counter intuitive for a permission email) so I removed all age restrictions from my kids account. Same error.
Any other ideas? Seems like a common glitch for FC, but no one seems to have a solution.
Hi coolbluemom,
Could you take a look at the parental settings on the PSN account?
On the console, go to Settings > Family and Parental Controls > Family Management and select the child account to review the parental control settings. Double-check these:
- Is online play and Communication allowed?
- If not, change those to 'approved' and try the prompt in-game again.
- Double-check that you've allowed those options for your own account as well. And test it again after making that change.
- If not, change those to 'approved' and try the prompt in-game again.
- Are email communication or parental approvals blocked?
- If yes, that may be why the request can’t go through. Toggle the options to allow those and try again.
If the prompt issues persist after trying those few things, a possible workaround on the table would be to try sending the parent email using a mobile hotspot or from another device logged into the same PSN account (like a PC or mobile browser). Sometimes the issue can be caused by the internet connection. I know you mentioned the connection is solid in your home, so this would be just something to rule out the connection issue side of things.
