Set Piece Lag + Random Gameplay Stutters
TLDR:
FC 26 Ultimate Team on PC - dealing with 2 separate lag/stutter issues. Mainly looking for help diagnosing set-piece lag and random gameplay stutters. GPU/CPU monitoring has not shown anything obvious.
I am having 2 different performance issues in FC 26 UT and I am trying to figure out if anyone has experienced similar or found fixes.
- Severe lag during set pieces
During kickoffs, free kicks, penalties, and corners (but not throw-ins), the game chugs badly until the ball is put into play, and then for 1-2 seconds afterwards as well. This happens in both online and offline modes.
What is weird:
- No performance monitor warnings
- In offline, it does not happen when lining up the kick, only after it has been taken, especially if there is a deflection, rebound, post hit, etc.
This issue started about 1-2 months ago.
- Random gameplay stutters during open play (main issue)
This started around the same time. I get periodic stutters/chugs during gameplay with no performance monitor warnings.
It seems to happen most often during transitions, for example:
- Winning possession in my defensive third
- Dribbling across midfield
- Entering the opponent's box
It happens less often during slower lateral passing/build-up play.
It almost feels tied to the game loading/rendering something as play shifts to another area of the pitch. I think it may happen less on more zoomed-in camera settings, but I have not tested enough to confirm.
This happens in online modes, but not Squad Battles or other offline modes.
What I have already checked:
- Monitored CPU/GPU usage in-game, found nothing obvious (no spikes/maxing out/throttling)
- Tried a ton of NVIDIA settings
- Made sure PC is in the correct power mode
- Reduced unnecessary in-game graphical settings
- Cleared shader caches
- Reinstalled EA Javelin
- Disabled EA overlay
- Shut off OneDrive syncing
Has anyone dealt with issues like these? Any settings, drivers, overlays, cache issues, camera settings, or FC-specific fixes I should test?
