Settings not working

I bought the game quiet recently, I play on my laptop using my keyboard. 

I have issues with settings not working. I for example changed the difficulty of AI, but it doesnt change in game. I changed the length of the halfs, but it stays the original 6 minutes. The settings show as changed also after restarting the game, but the game is not influenced by these changes and sticks to the original setting. 

Anyone has an idea on how I can change these? I like to play career mode, but I win all my games very easily now, which is very boring and would like to play vs better AI.


Note: When I started out I also had issues with changing which keys on my keyboard did what action (shoot, sprint etc). I eventually managed to change this, by changing these settings in a match, instead of in the general settings menu. And then it worked afterwards, when I tried to adjust something in settings afterwards in the main settings menu, it all flipped back to original again, then I changed it in in game again, and it worked again, haven't touched (don't dare 😅) them since. However the game difficulty, length of half settings etc are not accessible in a match.
