The game doesn't use my earphones' mics for the microphone in chat party

Exactly as the title said. For some reason, the game only recognizes my laptop's built-in mic even when I'm connecting my earphones. I tried three different earphones, 2 wired and 1 wireless, same result. Funny thing is, I can hear the game well from the earphones; it's the microphone part where things go south for some reason. Can anyone explain this bizarro situation to me and help me fix it? Btw, I even tried to disable the built-in microphone from the device manager. Even with that, the game still used the laptop's mic.
