Since buying i am yet to play a full match because it keeps disconnecting, i thought i might be wifi issue, ive upgraded the wifi and use wifi extenders , i have been able to play with no lag but somehow it always manages to disconnect midgame. This is clearly a server issue that is never going to be fixed. I think its time to forfeit from football games or more specifically online games made by EA.
I previously had this issue when my internet was very good suddenly it is disconnecting for few games.
What I did back then (to fix it) is making sure I am connected through 5Ghz or 6Ghz WiFi, not 2.4Ghz and must be within the same room to have lower latency and if possible, better to invest in ethernet cable.
Issue for me was possibly new WiFis in the area (channels interference) and/or my laptop connecting to 2.4Ghz WiFi.
More importantly, make sure to change your WiFi channel. If all is good, your connection might be disturbed by other WiFis in the area, especially if it is loaded with WiFis (channel interference). Changing the channel of your 5Ghz for example, will make it function much better.
All that considering you internet provider has good internet service AND your internet itself is good, like it is optic fiber, not 4/5G.
Only scenario I had issue with is, when I started playing after 6 PM GMT, when new content is getting updated and EA's servers are loaded, I got disconnected from the game because of that, and counted as loss in FC Fantasy League, when each game counts.
Nonetheless, there still many issues I am also facing without any fault of my own (you can see my post) with this game, coming back to the game after 5 years of disconnection, I still see even more issues arising especially after introducing cross-play, I can certainly say, this will be my last purchase for sure.
This is a server-side issue in EA Sports FC 26 causing frequent disconnections mid-match on PS5. Local Wi-Fi improvements won’t fix it. The only current solution is to report it to EA with logs and wait for a server-side patch. Temporary workaround: play offline modes until it’s resolved.
