Ultimate Gauntlet – Frequent “Connection Lost” Disconnects (Server-Side Issue)

Hi, I occasionally experience the message “Connection to your opponent has been lost. We will review the match report and update you.”, and I’m trying to understand why this happens.

However, I want to emphasize that this issue occurs almost every time I play Ultimate Gauntlet, and the behavior is highly consistent. In other online modes, this rarely happens or does not happen at all. In Ultimate Gauntlet specifically, the disconnect occurs very predictably.

In most cases, the disconnect happens around 10–15 minutes into the match (typically around the 12-minute mark). Once the match reaches that point, the disconnect feels almost guaranteed, regardless of the score or gameplay situation. This strongly suggests a time-based or server-side instability tied specifically to Ultimate Gauntlet, rather than random network issues or player behavior.

When the disconnect occurs, the system displays the message indicating that the match report will be reviewed, and the final result becomes inconsistent and unclear. This behavior has been observed repeatedly under the same conditions, making it feel systematic rather than accidental.

My connection should not be the issue. I’m using a CAT6 Ethernet cable, a stable 500 Mbps wired connection, and no background applications were running (screenshot attached). I do not use any third-party tools, overlays, or software, and my PC setup is clean. I’m running an NVIDIA RTX 5070 GPU, and everything on my side remains stable throughout the match.

The only consistent technical indicator I’ve noticed is that the in-game ping suddenly spikes shortly before the disconnect. This spike happens most frequently — and almost exclusively — in Ultimate Gauntlet matches, again pointing toward a server or matchmaking issue rather than a local connection problem.

At this point, my main goal is simply to understand why Ultimate Gauntlet in particular is so prone to this issue, and whether there are any steps players can take to avoid it. If this is caused by server instability rather than intentional quits, I genuinely hope EA can improve the stability of Ultimate Gauntlet — especially for PC players, since these disconnections directly affect competitive outcomes.

Because this issue occurs repeatedly, predictably, and at a similar time into the match, it may be reproducible on the server side. I’m sharing this in good faith so EA can investigate any potential instability specific to Ultimate Gauntlet and address it properly.
