Ultimate Team Frozen / Broken after PS update

Came home to play today and I just get frozen at the ultimate team menu... Click ultimate team, just freezes... Can play other game modes.

I've tried uninstalling the game / reinstalling... Have restarted router (on LAN). I see things saying 'use the companion app and delete squads', but I can't get into the companion app because it says I"m logged in on another device. I've tried setting the DNS settings to 1.1.1.1. and 1.0.0.1. 

Super-frustrating... It's just broken. 

What else can I do?
