Unable to connect to the EA Servers for Clubs Mode

I keep getting the “Unable to connect to the EA Servers. Please check your internet connection and try again” error when trying to play the clubs mode. I can play ultimate team online but can’t access this mode. Please help resolve this issue for my user account, it seems like an account specific issue
