Unable to Launch EA Sports FC 26 Trial on PC via Xbox Game Pass + EA Play
PC (Xbox Game Pass for PC + EA Play subscription)
Trying to play: EA Sports FC 26 – 10 Hour Free Trial
When attempting to launch the trial version of EA Sports FC 26, the splash screen appears briefly, then closes. The EA App displays this error message:
"Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail."
This happens every time I try to open the game.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open EA App and select EA Sports FC 26 (Trial) from Xbox Game Pass + EA Play library.
- Click Play.
- Splash screen appears for a few seconds.
- Splash screen closes, and EA App displays the error above.
Troubleshooting Attempted:
- Ran EAFCAntiCheat.exe and EASportsFC26.exe (trial and regular) as Administrator
- Tried Windows 8 Compatibility Mode (prompted a "Login to Origin" window — after entering credentials, it says I'm not connected to the Internet)
- Added Windows Defender exclusions for all EA-related folders
- Used EA App’s "Repair" function for the game
- Repaired EA AntiCheat from _Installer folder
- Reinstalled all vc_redist executables
- Fully uninstalled the game, deleted all EA folders, reinstalled fresh
