Xbox One Controller freezes exactly when online match loads
Hey everyone,
I've been dealing with a persistent controller issue in FC 26 and have exhausted every fix I can find. Posting here hoping someone has experienced the same thing or that EA can look into it further.
The problem: My Xbox One controller works perfectly in offline modes but freezes completely the moment an online match loads. The game continues normally but the controller does absolutely nothing.
My setup:
- Wired Xbox One controller (tried two different controllers, same result)
- Launching via both Steam and EA App — same result both ways
- Windows 11 PC with Razer Synapse (Huntsman Mini + Viper V3 Pro)
Everything I have tried:
- Disabled Steam Input (both per-game and globally)
- Disabled Xbox Game Bar and Game Mode
- Capped FPS to 60 with VSync
- Reinstalled EA Anti-Cheat
- Clean boot (with only EA and Steam services enabled)
- Removed "Bluetooth LE XINPUT compatible input device" from Device Manager
- Removed duplicate Razer HID entries from Device Manager
- Fully reinstalled Xbox controller drivers
- Contacted EA Support — received only generic answers with no resolution
Important details:
- This has never worked online on this PC
- Works perfectly in all offline modes
- Happens with two completely different controllers
- EA Support could not resolve it after going through all standard fixes
Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? EA, if you're reading this, I'd really appreciate getting my EAC logs reviewed — I believe Anti-Cheat is rejecting my controller input at the exact moment the online match initializes, but I don't know why.
