Cheesing squad battles
I currently find that the best way to compete against the current squad battles AI is fast players, counter attacks, and finesse+ cheese. I'm just wondering if anyone else feels this way? The AI see...

I use 4-1-3-2. Or a 4-4-2 Holding (2 CDMs). When using the latter, make sure at least 1 CDM has Relentless+. I usually set the player instructions to have 1 play a more defensive role, i.e., Center Half/Deep Lying Playmaker/Holding with focus on defensive support. The other is usually set to Playmaker/Box-to-Box with focus on Roaming or Balanced.
At the end of the day, it really comes down to your gameplay. The CPU will do the bare minimum in terms of support. You need to improve your defending by using the 2nd man press, quick tactics (D-Pad). Master the team press, offsides trap, team focus, tactical suggestions.

I play 4-2-3-1 wide, finesse+ on striker and cam, 88 pace on striker, cam has base incisive minimum, and just spam runs runs from deep. It's best to get accustomed to doing it when you have already completed squads for the week, purely from a timing stand point.
Spam runs from deep and easy finesse finish or even make a tiny bit of space with a finesse, and you can easily cheese 5 goals each game which is the max goals for bonus points. Some games will be tougher than others but I generally do legendary on anything below 80 rated, and world class on anything above. Then just play the 2 weekly squads on professional. It got me 35k this week, 32k last week, and can almost guarantee an easy elite 1 for the week. Admittedly, the score for elite 1 has gone up a bit this week, but the more people figure the AI out the more point total will rise.
If you play the way I do then you have to be confident in your defending at the back against the AI, mainly because it's easier to let them attack so you can win the ball back, but they are still dangerous. I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't confident, but it's genuinely the best way I've found to play against the current AI.
