False “Coin Distribution” Flag After Legitimate Trading

Recently had around 7 million coins wiped for “coin distribution” despite never buying or transferring coins.

The coins came from a combination of FC Points and trading, with the vast majority built through trading and lazy selling TOTS cards over a long period of time. I also have a full spreadsheet documenting player purchases, sales, and profit margins from my trades.

What makes the situation frustrating is the lack of transparency in the review process. My first appeal was denied with a very generic response and without any actual explanation, evidence, or suspicious transactions being shown.

I fully support EA taking action against real coin sellers, but the current system feels far too automated when legitimate high-volume traders can lose massive amounts of progress without any meaningful transparency or proper manual review.

  • Sorry to hear about you being unfairly targeted, there are quite a few of us being affected in the community.

From my personal experience the best thing you can do to speed up the process and get someone real to help you is: if EA have HQ where you live, write a letter of complaint and send it to them via a service that requires a signature upon being received. You can address it to the attention of their legal team.

You can also request the data used to take action against you via DSAR under GDPR article 15.

I wish you good luck and I hope justice will be done 🙏🏻🤞🏻 This is so unbelievably unfair

My case is similar to yours I had around 8,300,000 coins wiped and 2 days later I received a transfer market ban. It’s been 2 weeks and 4 days and nothing has been done about it. I wish I’d sent my formal letter of complaint right away, but now at least after sending it on Tuesday this week I received a response via email from customer relations and my case is ongoing a studio review.

You can find more information in this thread if you wish:

  • It doesn’t make it any easier that there are no guidelines on how to safely use the transfer market, they have rules but they are apparently a trade secret so we can not know them, so how are we supposed to follow them? Basically they can do whatever they want to our accounts and don’t have to justify their actions to anyone.

The only information I found with any mention of the transfer market can be found here:

    https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-sports-fc/fc-rules/#ea-sports-fc™-rules

    https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-sports-fc/coins-and-points-safety/

    Which states:

Transferring Coins by trying to sell or buy Items well above or below their average Coin price, in order to send to your friends or to transfer Coins to anyone.

Sell Items for a fair price on the Transfer Market

Using uneven trades for example significantly under or over offering trade items is an offence

The only other related information I received regarding the use of the transfer market came in the emails I received after my appeals:

We may use anti-cheat technology with our products, including automated anti-fraud and abuse algorithms. See our Privacy & Cookie Policy for more info.

We review trades in the Ultimate Team™ Transfer Market to make sure they’re fair and follow our rules. We do this by comparing the value of the item to the current value of the item in the Transfer Market to see if any extra value is being traded. This lets us know if there has been any Coin selling, buying, and/or distribution, which breaks our rules and goes against our User Agreement.

We review each account manually when we check this. Our review of your account showed that your account was flagged for breaking our rules. We didn’t find any sign that your account was hacked. Because of this, we’ve confirmed that your behavior went against our User Agreement and that your account was sanctioned correctly.

Remember that the details of EA's logic and means of detection is a protected trade secret, disclosure of which could inure (not sure what that means possible misspelling) to EA's detriment as it could be used by others in an attempt to avoid detection in the future.

    EA’s user agreement only mentions:

    • Do not promote or be involved in account or in-game currency buying, selling, distributing or farming.

All in all any guidelines are open to interpretation and are vague and ambiguous.

No one is bothered to answer important questions like:

    What is a fair price?

How do we determine the current value of an item?

What is the current value of an item that is not available in the transfer market? How do you determine that?

It mentions average coin price, are we expected to look at every item on the market and add up their value to determine its average price? That would be an impossible task to achieve accurately.

How much is well above or below their average Coin price?

What is considered an uneven trade exactly?

And once they take action against your account it seems like almost an impossible task to get any help.

Can I speak to another human being on the phone? What is the number?

Now that at least know about it I can safely say that I will never play another EA Sports FC game because I would have to be fearful and anxious that I am going to be sanctioned by breaking rules that to me are not available. I don’t have a driving license so I don’t drive, same kind of principle.

Ngl im just in chok about all This, never thought a huge Company like this could make thise kind of mistakes and not fix Them.

worst part is, i would NEVER spend money on fc points after this, when ea could just take your coins without evidence provided.
