January 16 False Ban Wave – Another Long-Time Player Wrongfully Banned

Hey EA Support Team and fellow FC players,

I’m writing this post to stand with everyone affected by the January 16 false ban wave, because I am also one of the innocent players who was wrongfully permanently banned.

I’ve been playing EA’s football games for many years, starting on PlayStation and later moving to PC. In FC26, I’ve invested over 400 hours, playing on average 3–4 hours every single day. I actively play all modes, including Squad Battles, Division Rivals, Champion, and various live matches, always in a legitimate and fair manner.

I’ve also spent a significant amount of money on the game, and a large portion of my in-game resources hadn’t even been used yet. I continued investing because I trusted EA and genuinely enjoyed the game.

What makes this ban especially unacceptable is its timing. The restriction was applied just a few hours before the TOTY event, the biggest event of the entire year. Like every other player, I was extremely excited for TOTY. I had carefully saved a large amount of resources in advance, specifically for this event, hoping to pack players I had been waiting for all year.

Instead, right before the event started, my account was wrongfully banned, completely locking me out of the game. All of my saved resources, preparation, and expectations were instantly lost. I was left confused, frustrated, and angry.

Afterwards, I discovered that many players were banned at the exact same time for the same vague “cheating” reason. This clearly wasn’t an isolated case, but a system-wide failure.

Out of trust in EA, I waited patiently for this mistake to be corrected and submitted my appeal. However, a full week has now passed with no meaningful action, no explanation, and no resolution.

As a long-time, loyal player, this has been incredibly disappointing.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are simply asking EA to properly review gameplay and activity logs, acknowledge the false positives from January 16, reverse the wrongful bans placed on innocent players, and communicate clearly and transparently with the affected community.

  • Got the same exact issue. They keep postponing my case every day with no solutions in sight. Been buying FC since fc 12 and can gladly confirm that this year was the last time buying this crap. Whole TOTY missed, no way to compete cause packs are **bleep** and you're banned from the TM.

    Dear EA,

    I have been a Rank 1 level player since FIFA 19 (now FC) and consistently achieve Rank 1 each year. I spend a significant amount of FIFA Points annually and play exclusively on PlayStation, where cheating is not possible. Despite this, my account was banned right before the TOTY period.

    I would also like to highlight a critical error regarding my platform. Although I only play on PlayStation, my account appears to be categorized as PC, which indicates a clear mistake. I do not own or play the PC version of the game on this email account, and I do not have any PC account associated with this username. Therefore, cheating is impossible in my case.

    Before TOTY, I had saved approximately 500 high-value packs, which was a major source of excitement and motivation for me. I kindly ask you not to take away my passion for the game and FC 26 due to an incorrect ban, especially during the TOTY period.

    Please review my platform information, spending history, and competitive ranks in previous titles. In FIFA 19, I ranked in the world’s top 5 for two months. There has been absolutely no cheating or misuse on my account. I respectfully request a thorough review and reconsideration of this ban. I would also like to note that many other players have reported similar issues during this period on Twitter (X), suggesting a possible widespread error.
