Rivals has become unplayable

It genuinely makes me sad that this game has regressed to the state it is currently in. I have a little over 300 hours on FC26, have been playing rivals and the live events since release, and have gotten to a point where I genuinely have stopped playing. All I bothered to do now is SBC's.

Rivals has become the most agonisingly unplayable mode in the game. Every single game now, I'm playing against a full gold loan team with Raphina, Mbappe, Van Dijk and Saliba, which for some reason have become the most OP cards in the game. The number of times I've conceded the craziest, most soul-crushingly undeserved goals to Mbappe or Raphina has seriously pushed me towards other games now. How these cards have suddenly become so unbelievably good is beyond me, because up until now, I've never had a problem playing against them. The amount of times rebounds fall straight to their feet, or loose balls magically find their way to them, means there's genuinely no point in playing anymore. Every time you come up against these teams, the game devolves into an unbearable DDA simulator that rewards the most toxic and brain-dead gameplay.

I know there'll be plenty who read this and say it's a skill issue, or pointless complaining. But at this point, I really don't care. The enjoyment of the game this year has been slowly sucked out by each patch, and honestly at this point, I don't see much of a way back for EA.

Couldn't agree more. It's actually sad, because for a moment rivals was actually enjoyable. In past, I've usually started most game cycles by just playing squad battles until I have a good enough team to start competing in online matches.

This year, I decided to just dive straight into the deep end and focus on Rivals and eventually champs. But honestly, I've been qualified for champs for like a month now and genuinely have no interest in playing. EA makes it so obvious when they're swinging the momentum in a players favour, and it just turns every game into a soulless sweat fest.

Everyone uses the same formations, player and tactics, and even then, I still lose. I got to the point where I was pretty good at manually tracking runs and reading passes. But now, even if I make the right read or time my tackles perfectly, my opponent is still able to get a shot off.

I feel your pain bro, trust me. I'm at the point now where I genuinely don't know if I can be bothered stressing myself out with this game anymore, and honestly, I might just stick to anything EA hasn't made for now.

  • Division Rivals is dead. That's why EA is giving FUT Champs points in for live events rewards. What's even worse is they nerfed bounties. I used to get reward point bounties. Now I just get ladder progression bounties. As a result, I got catapulted into Division 5 where my win percentage is approximately 25%-30%.

I'll get matched against an 83-rated team. My team is 87-rated. His GK is prime Buffon, making the most incredible reaction saves. My Forlan (88-rated) inexplicably misses shots just outside the 6-yard box. Meanwhile his players are dangerous in attack. He goes down the wing and cuts back inside. I press the button to tackle/block and my player doesn't do anything as he shoots and scores.

My players are L1 dribbling just fine until a crucial moment. As soon as he uses his CDM stars moving toward the ball carrier, my player takes a deliberately heavy touch and loses the ball.

I pass the ball my ST just outside the 18 yard box. All he has to do is turn and shoot. Instead the ball hits him and bounces 5 feet away from the goal. He takes 2-3 control touches. By that time, the defense and GK and are in perfect position to tackle/block. When he lets it run through, he takes an extra "control" touch instead of shooting it first time. the result is the same: GK block or CB tackle.

It's definitely not a skill issue. It's EA putting their thumb on the scale. Rigging the game is not the same as competitive.
