SBC: Duplicate HERO

I had 3 heroes in my team to this point. Dimitar Berbatov, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and Park Ji Sung. I packed Berbatov from a store pack which I got using pre-order fp points. Solskjær and Park Ji Sung I acquired from prior SBCs. All 3 of these heroes are untradeable in my team.

I put 22 cards into this SBC which included multiple 87 and 88 Rated cards. Of all the possible 48 base heroes available to pack in this SBC, I packed Dimitar Berbatov. One of the 3 heroes I already have untradeable. So now I essentially have an additional 88 Rated sbc fodder card that is of absolutely no benefit to my ultimate team game outside of being used for a different sbc. That plus the fact that I now have 7-8 less higher rated cards that I used to complete this sbc is ridiculous. How can you justify doing this to loyal customers while simultaneously not selling coins in-game (only fp points that can only be used for other "gamble packs") so that people who don't have time to spend trading cards/making coins through the market while also simultaneously banning customers for buying coins through 3rd party websites??

I get that sbc packs, whether hero, icon, regular gold needs to be a "gamble," but this is egregious. Why would I ever want to spend money in game if the odds of packing an untradeable duplicate card is higher than packing a card I don't previously own?? It 100% seems greedy, anti‑consumer, and borderline predatory to the average customer.

I would request EA compensate me with a new, different hero, but I'm not expecting EA will do anything about this because why would they care.

This is honest feedback of my experience with SBCs, store packs, "pack-weight" formulas, and spending any money with fc26.

This statement is ridiculous. Gamble packs have always been that, a gamble. Sometimes you get dupes, it's just the way it is. You were aware this may happen going into the pack and made the decision to do the pack anyway. All the pack does is garuntee a hero player. It does not garuntee you a hero player that you don't already have.

No one likes putting fodder, especially high rated fodder into a gamble SBC just to pack a bad card, but that's the risk you take. I did the Icon pack this morning and packed Ian Rush, never going to use him, but I was aware that might happen and took the risk regardless.

Not being happy with what you pack doesn't give you the right to compensation. You're just going to have to put your big boy pants on and deal with it. If you don't like the risk/consequences of doing gamble packs then put your fodder into SBC's that garuntee a specific player.

Also I hope they NEVER sell coins in game, that would be absurd. The game is pay to win enough as it is. At least people who get good at trading have a fair enough chance against players who just sink $$ into FC points. You can literally make so many coins by sinking $$ into tradeable store packs as it is.

This is honestly the most cry baby post I think I've ever read in this forum. Grow up and take the consequences of the decisions that YOU consciously made.

  • Bro has completely missed the point and instead spent his time crying on a forum about what someone else posted as feedback to EA. With my current I had a 94% chance of pushing a new hero, not a duplicate. If EA wants more people to spend money on the game, this kind of "pack luck" or whatever you want to call it should be addressed. If it was near the end of the game, summer time, even January for that matter, it would be more understandable, but it makes me question if it is even "luck" at all. You don't think the game coders could write a simple line of code logic to to check if a player card is in your team and how many of that specific card type is in your team before the game code "randomly" generates a card when a pack is opened? Come on son... If you got 50% of the available cards of a specific rarity, 25% even, then getting a duplicate is a gamble someone could consciously reconcile as "the risk you take", but when you have 3 cards out of a total possibility of 49 for the hero rarity to be specific, and in this specific example, you have a 6% chance of getting a duplicate AND you still get a duplicate... That is suspect, and that is all I'm saying. But if trolling a forum makes you feel better, please do you thing 💯

Nope. I'm not trolling, I understood your point, it's just a bad point with flawed logic. You wrote the post moaning to EA about pack luck not me man.

Sure, EA could code in that logic, but then you'd have players immediately take advantage of that mechanic. What would be there to stop players buying up a bunch of cheap/bad icons/heroes to then maximize their chances of packing a good one because of the pool sample size of 'owned'  icon/hero players in their club, then just straight up selling those players again after having completed the pack. It would be unfair to the rest of the player base.

It's not suspect at all. You're posting this acting like it's some sort of conspiracy against you. Face reality dude. If this was a major issue, wouldn't there be a tonne of people complaining in the forums about packing dupes like you have?

Here's the reality. You did a gamble SBC that only garunteed you a hero player. That's it. It didn't promise not to give you a dupe. You also did the SBC knowing that this was the case and still went forward with it. Despite this, you're upset you packed a dupe and are now complaining about pack weight being fixed somehow and want EA to change it for you regardless of the knock on effect that may have.

There were also a tonne of other people today that did the SBC and didn't get a dupe. You had bad pack luck this time around. EA aren't 'out to get you'. Deal with it.
