Can you try below workaround?
1. Quick sell current gold card Kulusevski from your club.
2. After quick sell, buy new card from transfer market (or pack new one).
3. Then try to put this new card into new evolution and see if it works.
This workaround used to work in FC24/FC25. Never faced this issue on FC26 so far.
Attempted the above but still facing the same issue. Really strange as I have no other cards for this player in my club.
