What is happening?

What is this glitch/bug, I got into a fut champs match and all my players had white indicators above them and I couldn't move. My opponent scored 2 then I got a goal kick and I could move one guy but my goalie kicked it to another and I couldn't take it off him. After that my opponent didn't try to take the ball off me and I couldn't pause or do anything so I had to afk forfeit.
