Title: Ball Timing, Movement Anticipation and Foot Synchronization

Hello EA team,

I want to add another observation to my previous feedback because I have been playing FC 27 Lite and watching the replays very carefully.

I can clearly see that the synchronization problem has improved. I would say that around 80% of what I was noticing before is now much better.

There are still occasional situations where the player should plant the left foot but instead seems to use the right foot again, almost as if the animation has skipped a step. But this is happening much less frequently, which is a very positive sign.

I also want to explain something that may be important when looking at this problem: what we call "ball timing" or "game timing" in football.

When you play football, you don't always wait for the ball to arrive before starting your movement.

For example, if a teammate sends me a pass and I know I am going to shoot first time, I can already start preparing my body and my leg before the ball reaches me. By the time the ball arrives, the movement is already in progress.

That anticipation is part of football.

Professional players have this timing constantly active. They read the ball, the opponent, the space and the pressure before the ball actually arrives. The movement can therefore begin before the moment of contact.

This is especially important when a player is under pressure.

If I know a defender is coming, I may already begin preparing my body to pass, cross or shoot before the defender actually reaches me. The movement and the ball have to meet at the correct moment.

I believe this could be an important part of the animation synchronization problem in FC 27.

Instead of the game waiting until the last moment and then cutting or shortening an animation to make the player perform the action, the system should anticipate the movement when the situation allows it.

The player should start the correct movement early enough so that, when the ball arrives, the animation naturally reaches the point of contact.

This would be much more realistic than suddenly skipping a foot plant or changing the next step just to make the command happen.

Sometimes I still see situations where the player is running:

right foot → left foot → right foot

and then, when the next movement should require the left foot, the animation seems to skip that step and use the right foot again.

The result looks like the player is jumping over a step or sliding slightly over the grass.

I believe this is where the concept of ball timing could be extremely important.

The game needs to understand not only WHERE the ball is, but also WHERE the player's body is in the movement sequence and what movement should already be happening before the ball reaches the player.

For example:

If the ball is slightly farther away, the player may need a longer step.

If the ball is closer, the player may need a shorter adjustment.

If the player is preparing a first-time shot, the preparation of the leg should already begin before the ball reaches the foot.

If the player is being pressured, the body should anticipate the pressure and prepare the next movement naturally.

If there isn't enough time to complete the movement, then the player should fail to execute the action.

I would honestly prefer that.

I would rather miss a shot because my player didn't have enough time to complete the movement than have the game cut the animation and make the player reach the ball unnaturally.

That would create much more authentic gameplay.

The good news is that FC 27 is already very close.

The atmosphere is excellent.

The graphics are excellent.

The speed of the game is very good.

The weight of the players feels much better.

The physical contact is much more realistic.

And I can clearly see that the animation synchronization has improved compared with my first experience.

Now I believe the next step is to refine those last situations where the movement still gets interrupted.

Please look closely at:

  • Foot planting
    • Left/right leg synchronization
    • Running cycles
    • Movement anticipation before ball contact
    • First-time shots
    • Crosses while under pressure
    • Ball control while running
    • Animation transitions when another player is marking the ball carrier
    • The relationship between the player's movement, the ball's position and the timing of the action

I believe this is what could take FC 27 from "very realistic" to something extremely close to real football.

And I want to emphasize again: I am not asking you to make the game faster or more arcade-like.

Quite the opposite.

I want the player to respect the complete physical movement.

If the correct movement takes longer, let it take longer.

If the player doesn't have enough time, let the player fail.

But please don't skip the necessary foot movement just to make the command happen.

The fact that I can now see the problem happening much less often gives me hope that this is something that can be refined even further.

Please keep looking at the replays frame by frame.

Sometimes the difference between a realistic movement and an unrealistic one is only one step — but that one step makes a huge difference.

Thank you for listening to the community.
